Siopao Asado or bāozi refers to steamed buns with sweet asado pork inside. This dish was introduced by the Chinese and has been a favorite among Filipinos eversince. Aside from siopao asado, another famous siopao version is called siopao bola-bola wherein the bun is stuffed with a ground pork mixture shaped like a ball.

Siopao is often sold warm in panciterias and mamihan. This is often eaten with beef or chicken mami. A delicious siopao sauce makes siopao tastes even better.

Siopao and its similar varities are known as: Mandarin roll, Mantı, 燒包, Pe̍h-ōe-jī, Mántóu, sio-pau, Bánh bao, Nikuman

    1. Ok Alam ko na yung problema! Nilalangyan pala ni Kuya ng Baking powder eh from experience, ginagawang brown ng baking powder ang mga steamed breads kagaya ng puto at Siopao.

      Next time, wag mong dagdagan ng baking powder at pagkatapos mong lagyan ng filing, iwanan mo ng 30 minutes bago mo i-steam.

    2. wag kyo gumamit ng butter o margarine… lard o shortening gamitin pra puti lng yung siopao

  6. Para mas masarap, Lagyan ng star anise sa pagluto ng asado.. masarap din Lagyan ng hard boiled egg ang Palaman ng siopao. Just a suggestion!
