you suppose to proof the yeast with a hot water, that’s why everything was a fail in the end.

Foodjabi Proof the yeast with warm or even lukewarm water and a pinch of sugar, then add more sugar according to your taste when mixing your final batter to control the sweetness of the massa.
PS: hot water will kill/deactivate the yeast. Yeast feeds on sugar and never fails when fed.
